Important information (read before attending)
📝 Registration is required
You must register using the training registration form before attending. Registration helps us prepare resources, track attendance, and ensure you receive all necessary information.
🔐 NRP access in Authentik is required
If you are not already registered in Authentik, you will not be able to fully follow along with the training. The hands-on exercises require active NRP access. Please set up your NRP access and Authentik account before the training sessions begin.
👤 Namespace admin status for the Intermediate track
If you are not a namespace admin, you will not be able to reproduce deploying multi-tenant JupyterHub environments within your namespace during the Intermediate Track session. You can still attend and learn, but hands-on practice for “Deploying JupyterHub” requires namespace admin privileges.
🌍 Eligibility requirements
NRP access is available to:
- Users from US academic institutions
- Users collaborating with US institutions on joint projects
If you are from a non-US institution or industry (non-academic), please contact us to discuss eligibility before registering.

Beginner Track Topics
- Introduction to the National Research Platform
Overview of NRP's mission, capabilities, how to gain access, and policy guidelines. - The Portal: GUI Access to Resources
Navigate the NRP portal, manage namespaces/groups, and explore the integrated LiteLLM interface. - Basic and Intermediate Docker and Kubernetes
Pods, Deployments, PVCs, S3 storage, `kubectl`, exposing services, taints/tolerations, node affinity, and Python APIs.
Intermediate Track Topics
- Using JupyterHub
Launch and use interactive development environments. - Using Coder
Launch and use interactive development environments with VS Code (code-server) support. - Deploying JupyterHub
Deploy and manage JupyterHub/Coder environments for groups or courses.
